Oklahomans Helping the Children of Peru!
“To provide charitable relief and improve the quality of life for the impoverished and under-privileged children of Peru and their families.
We are incredibly excited to introduce you to Oklahoma’s MITA's Foundation. Founded in 2009, MITA's Foundation sponsors a Love Mission to Peru every year. Let us explain… Imagine over 400 smiles and over 400 hearts touched with gifts, hugs and a knowing that someone out there cares. This is our one and only mission and this is the legacy of MITA's Foundation.
We begin our trip with a day in Lima to coordinate with local volunteers. Full of anticipation, we’ll awake the next day for our 18-hour drive north toward the border with Ecuador, arriving late in the evening in Puerto Cancas, Peru.
MITA’s Foundation will give away toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste and dental floss units. We'll take supplies of ibuprofen, Neosporin, calcium, bubble gum, and used reading glasses for needy families from the area. But our main objective is to deliver backpacks full of school supplies to poor children in the city. The backpacks will contain notebooks, pens, pencils, and crayons for each child. We're going to supply the school itself with easels, display size paper pads, markers, and seating pads for the kids. We're also planning a special surprise for 8 of the teachers who work so hard all year long for so little remuneration.
But none of this would happen without your thoughtful and sacrificial help! Please make your donation to keep these missions going!
Thank you so much!
