Collection Drives

Mita’s Foundation coordinates collections of school supplies (backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, paper, etc.), toys and gifts for Christmas and medical/dental items. Although collection drives for donations are scheduled in Oklahoma during the year, funds are accepted at any time. Volunteers visit the villages in Peru to distribute the goods, including groceries purchased locally, and ensure that basic needs are met.

During the global pandemic, Mita’s Foundation was able to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to police officers who help keep the villages safe. Many of them volunteer to help our mission. However, due of lack of masks, more than 200 officers have died. Mita’s Foundation used emergency funds to donate PPEs to these local heroes.
