We built a community education center in 2018 in Santa Rosa de Quives, two hours northeast of Lima, which serves around 300 villagers. During the day, the center functions as a day care/pre-school for children 3 and under. At night, it becomes a workshop location for women and at-risk youth where they learn handcrafting skills that they can apply in order to strengthen their income. Teachers volunteer their time and expertise to share their knowledge in a variety of classes. Donations are needed to purchase classroom materials, supplies and additional furniture (desks, tables, chairs, shelves, writing boards, file cabinets, etc.).
